Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf has extended an offer to the legendary Australian bowler Glenn McGrath to work with Pakistan.
Zaka met McGrath at a gathering hosted by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at Kirribilli House in Sydney, honouring both the Pakistan and Australia teams along with their respective managements.
Local media reported Zaka's offer to the former pacer, who requested time to consider it due to his other commitments.
Notably, Pakistan's High Commissioner in Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, and officials from Cricket Australia were also in attendance at the reception.
The Australian prime minister warmly welcomed both teams and praised Pakistan's performance, particularly in the Melbourne Test. He commended the visiting team for their exemplary conduct throughout the tour and looked forward to an exciting match in Sydney.
Pakistan captain Shan Masood expressed gratitude to the Australian Prime Minister for hosting the team.
Shan emphasised the positive cricket played by both sides in the series, highlighting the opportunity to represent their countries through their behaviour. He also expressed hope for a successful conclusion to the series with a strong performance in Sydney.
The third Test match between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled to commence at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday, January 3rd.
